As a yoga teacher, my approach is caring and intuitive. I strive to help friends/students achieve what they want and need for that specific day on their own mat. I believe anyone can attain the benefits of yoga, regardless of how flexible or strong. We all possess the capability to welcome physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga as we navigate what our bodies and minds can accomplish in the present. I strive to appreciate where I am at the moment, and to help others do the same.

I began practicing yoga in the summer of 1996, and still warm-heartedly remember the joy, release, and freedom I felt after stepping off that first mat. I have shared that sense of ‘coming home’ with those around me ever since. I spent years attending regular yoga classes and workshops, leading spontaneous lessons at home, and sharing pain relieving/heart opening poses with friends/family.  This path led me to make my teaching ‘official’, as I completed 200 hours of RYT with Prana Yoga Center in La Jolla, California. I am also registered professionally with Yoga Alliance as an experienced yoga instructor with a 500 hour RYT from Asheville Yoga Center.

I worked as a flight attendant for over 20 years; always on the go and balancing family, career, and personal interests. I first came to the mat the year I married the love of my life, moved hundreds of miles away from friends and family, began commuting by airplane, and navigated a health scare. The answer to all this for me was deeply breathing my way through self guided sun salutations and therapeutic poses. Yoga helped me feel more in control of situations and my emotions. I practiced in hotel rooms, parks, and studios all over the U.S. I attended workshops as often as possible.

People sometimes ask, “What type of yoga do you practice and teach?” I have explored many types of yoga throughout my years of practice. I have spent years with power flow, lots of time and workshops with anatomy and breath, and other years simply gentle flow and meditation. When we started our family, my practiced trended toward Iyengar and Kundalini. After three children (all by natural childbirth - which I credit to yoga, meditation, and breathing practice), I engaged in more Anusara and heart-opening styles. Most recently I have gravitated more to Restorative and Yin classes, helping people feel comfortable and release tension.  I volunteer with a group (JFY) where power flow is the standard yoga practice.  I have found I definitely have the yin and yang of yoga teaching styles. To date my youngest fellow yogi student was 3 and the oldest is 94. Every class needs something different - I learn from every situation that I share yoga in as well.                                                         My mantra is to respectfully honor where my body and that of my students/friends

are on the given day.

You do You

YES, YOU CAN PRACTICE YOGA! The benefits of yoga are available to you, no matter your flexibility, fitness level, or health concerns. I want to help you begin/continue on your mat, from where your body is today towards a better health, calmness, clarity, release, relaxation, and inner peace.
